Italian Lasagna
A tried and true favorite I have made for years!
ingredients
- 1 lb sweet Italian sausage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp dried basil
- 1 tsp salt
- 16 oz can diced tomatoes
- 2 6 oz cans tomato paste
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 8 oz lasagna noodles
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp parsley flakes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1 lb mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
directions
Brown sausage and meat; drain fat. Add garlic, basil, 1 tsp salt, tomatoes, tomato paste and wine. Simmer, uncovered, about 30 minutes, stirring often. Cook lasagna noodles, drain. Beat eggs, ricotta, Parmesan, parsley, 1 tsp salt and pepper. Blend well. Spray 9 x 13 pan with non-stick spray. Layer 1/2 noodles, 1/2 cheese mixture, 1/2 mozzarella and 1/2 meat sauce. Repeat. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes until bubbly.
