Nani's White Rice with Back Fat (Tosino)
What is a little Back Fat amongst friends.
ingredients
- 1 Nice salty piece of back fat (cut into nice size cubes)
- Canilla Long Grain White Rice
- Canola or Corn Oil
- Tap Water
- Salt
directions
In a rice pot put enough oil to cover the bottom, bring to a low/medium heat put in the back fat frying it until golden brown.Put in as many of cups of rice you desire along with a teaspoon of salt (keeping in mind that the back fat has its own salt already)mixing it all really well together. Add your water approximately 2 inches above the rice, cover it and let the water absourb when you see the little pockets of air form you will then start turning the rice from the bottom up from the center of the pot folding in all of the corner to meet in the middle forming a mountain. You will then make indentations with the rice spoon (slants) approximately 3-4 cover it and let it cook for 30 minutes until fully cooked. After the 30 minutes you will then uncover and fluff the rice with a fork. Done. Mangia!!
