Asian Glazed Tuna Steaks
You can also use this marinade and cooking method with salmon, or other firm fish. This goes well with the Spicy Thai Noodles.
ingredients
- 4 1"thick tuna steaks (about 24 oz. total)
- 2 tbsp. fresh lime juice
- 1 1/2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 tsp. grated peeled fresh ginger (you can use fresh or find this in a jar)
- 1 1/2 tsp. sesame oil
- pinch of dried/crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
directions
- 1
Whisk all ingredients in a bowl. Place fish in a glass baking dish, and pour marinade over. Marinate 1 hr. in refrigerator or 30 minutes at room temperature, turning fish over once or twice.
- 2
Preheat broiler. Place fish on broiler plan and spoon some of the marinade over. Broil about 4" from heat for 3 minutes. Turn, and spoon on remaining marinade. Broil until glazed and just cooked, about 3 more minutes. DO NOT OVERCOOK! Place on plates and top with the juices from the pan.
notes
Most important thing is NOT to overcook the Tuna. Depending on your broiler, 3 minutes per side could be too much. You could also pan-sear over high heat to get a little more control over doneness.
