Rose Biolek-Cmolik’s recipe
6 medium Potatoes
3 Tbls. Butter
2 Tbls. Flour
2½ cups Milk
1 tsp. Salt
¼ tsp. Pepper
2 Tbls. chopped Onion
Par potatoes; slice thin. Make white sauce of butter, flour, and milk. Put half the potatoes in greased casserole; cover with half sauce, seasonings and onion. Add remaining potatoes, seasoning and onions, then remaining sauce.
Cover and bake in 400 degree oven for 1 hour. Uncover and continue baking until top forms brown crust.
Grated cheese may be added to white sauce.

Add 1 cup grated cheddar cheese to white sauce for Au Gratin Potatoes. I also like to add 3 or 4 slices of fried, crumbled bacon to potatoes.
