Aunt Nelda's Chocolate Chiffon
ingredients
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 2 Tablespoons cocoa
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- 1/2 cups sugar

In a 4 quart saucepan, thoroughly mix sugar, flour, cocoa, and salt. Add milk & egg yolk. Stir until dissolved. On medium heat, cook the liquid until it boils, stirring constantly.

Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar. After pudding is removed from heat, add vanilla and stir well.

Gently fold the pudding into the stiffly beaten egg whites, You should have a marbleized effect.

Serve in a sherbet dish topped with a maraschino cherry.
