Apple Chocolate Cake

- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons baking cocoa
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 medium tart apples, peeled and shredded
- 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- FROSTING
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/3 cup milk

Preheat over to 350 degrees.

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Beat in water and extracts. Combine dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Stir in apples and chips.

Pour into greased 13x9 pan. Bake for 40 minutes. Meanwhile, make the frosting.

Put the sugar and butter in a small pan. Set the pan over the over to melt while cake is cooling. When the cake is finished cooking the mixture will be melted.

Add the milk. Mix all together. Take a fork and put holes in the cake so the frosting falls into the holes. Pour the frosting over the cake.
