Bocaditos De Espinaca

Tastey deep fried spinach morsels that go great with Milanesas!

ingredients

For the Bocaditos
  • 2 packs of frozen spinach
  • 1 small carrot (grated)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/2 cup of self rising flower
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 2 eggs
  • milk
  • salt, pepper
For Frying
  • Vegetable Oil (enough to fill approx 2" depth in a deep frying pan)

    1. Break eggs and stir in flower to make a sticky dough. Add small amounts of milk to create a think “batter” consistancy

  • 2

    2. Defrost spinach and drain of all water. Chop all vegetables and garlic and mix into batter

  • 3

    3. Add salt and pepper as desired and form into balls (the size is depending on preference, but half-a-fist is standard)

  • 4

    4. Fry with vegetable oil, for about 3 minutes, then flip. They will be done when batter turns from yellow to crisp brown colour and are cooked throughout.

    5. Place on kitchen roll to remove excess oil.
