Bread Machine Panettone Recipe

I modified for the bread machine because I couldn’t grasp making bread in high-altitude, this way it comes out as I remember from Grandma Mazzei

ingredients

1T sugar
2/3C milk
1/4C butter
1 egg
1t vanilla extract
2C bread flour
3/4t salt
1 1/2t Bread machine yeast
1/4C candied fruit mix
1/8C raisins
1/8C citron
1t anise or fennel seed
1T lemon zest

directions

place first 8 ingredients into the pan of bread machine. Select sweet bread, add the chopped fruit 15-20 minutes before last kneading cycle(you can add this with the first ingredients if you do not want to wait). When the nut or fruit signal sounds, add the remaining fruit, lemon zest, and anise seed. It should come out perfect!
