HOMEMADE HOBNOBS

These are oaty biscuits and are absolutely delicious!! (Taste just like shop bought Hobnobs but are so easy to make!!)

ingredients

  • 8oz Self Raising flour (1 3/4 cups)
  • 8oz sugar (1 C, 2 T sugar)
  • 8oz porridge oats (2 3/4 cup rolled oats)
  • 8oz margarine (2 sticks)
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup (substitute corn syrup in the US)
  • 1 tbsp hot water
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)

directions

    Mix flour, oats and sugar. Melt the margarine, golden syrup and water together in a pan. Stir in the bicarbonate of soda. Add to dry mixture and combine everything together well.

    Make smallish balls and put on a greased baking tray and flatten slightly with a fork. Bake at 180 degrees C for 15 minutes. Put onto a rack to cool.

    You want them just golden in the oven, not brown.
