Seared Ahi Tuna with Asian Salad
ingredients
- 2 Ahi Tuna Steaks
- Five Spice Pwder
- Montreal Steak Spice, or salt and course pepper
- Asian Salad Kit
- Wasabi paste
- Sesame Oil
- Rice Vinegar
- Olive Oil
- Soy Sauce
- prewashed mixed baby salad greens
- 1/2 European cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon wasabi paste
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 tablespoons virgin olive oil
- salt & freshly ground black pepper to taste

Prepare salad to taste, refridgerate while cooking tuna.

Combine five-spice powder with Montreal steak spice or salt & pepper coat both sides of the tuna steaks (thoroughly, but not TOO heavily). Heat a grill pan over high heat, or use the searing burner of your Napolean Grill :) Spray grill surface with olive oil cooking spray. Add tuna steaks to the hot cooking surface and sear approx two minutes on each side - DO NOT OVERCOOK THE TUNA!
with salad option
Combine greens & cucumber in a bowl. In a smaller bowl, whisk wasabi, vinegar & soy sauce. Whisk in oil to cobmine dressing. Drizzle over salad and toss to coat evenly. Slice cooked tuna on an angle and arrange on salad.
