Nana's Apple Crunch
A treasured family recipe given to me by Alisha’s mother in 1976 while we were roommates at the University of Delaware.
ingredients
- 6 apples
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup butter

Peel and slice apples into a buttered dish. Sprinkle mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon over them. Mix flour and the remaining sugar together with baking soda and salt. Add beaten egg and mix until crumbly. Spread the mixture over the apples. Melt butter and pour over crumbs. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until good and crisp on top.

Serve warm, topped with ice cream or cold milk.
