Denise's American Chop Suey
ingredients
- 1 lb box elbow macaroni
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 2 cans tomato soup
- 14 1/2oz can diced tomatoes
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 2 green peppers, diced
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 8oz sliced fresh mushrooms
- 2 to 3 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 2 whole bay leaves
- 3 to 5 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil

1. Cook macaroni according to package directions

2. Spray a large skillet with a cooking spray like pam

3. Add about two tablespoons olive oil

4. Brown the ground beef

5. Add the peppers, onions, celery, garlic and mushrooms and continue to cook until vegetables are almost tender

6. Add the tomato soup, diced tomatoes, wine and the spices

7. Simmer for about 20 minutes

8. Drain cooked macaroni and place in a large bowl

9. Pour the tomato mixture over the macaroni and mix well
- 10
10. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese
