Jennifer's Sausage Cornbread Stuffing

ingredients

  • 1 bag Brownberry cornbread stuffing
  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 3 stalks of celery
  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 1 lb sage sausage

directions

Saute onion and celery in butter. Pour into bowl with cornbread squares and add chicken broth. Stir until well mixed. Add crumbled cooked sausage to the stuffing mixture and transfer to a buttered casserole dish. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees, Take out of oven, uncover, then return to oven for an additional 5 minutes to brown the top.

Add a couple of eggs to the mixture and use to stuff mushrooms, or put in muffin tins to make stuffin’ muffins.
