Mac n Cheese

ingredients

  • 2 cups dry macaroni
  • 1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk (or any milk)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3+ cups cheddar cheese (and various other cheeses), shredded
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted (or use some grease from the bacon)
  • 3/4 package cream cheese (in small pieces)
  • 6 pieces bacon, cooked
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper, to taste

directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook the pasta in boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside. In a large bowl, beat the egg and whisk in the evaporated milk until well blended. Add most of the shredded cheese, cream cheese, bacon (in pieces), the 1/2 teaspoon salt, melted butter, pepper. Mix well, making sure the cream cheese isn’t still in big chunks. Add cooked pasta. Pour the mixture into the baking dish. Top it evenly with some more cheese. Bake for approximately 35 minutes or until you’re sure the egg has cooked and the cheese on top turns golden brown.
