Christmas Crescent Cookies

JenniferJennifer Parrack

Another one of my grandmother’s recipes. She would make these cookies every year for Christmas, along with about a dozen other varieties. They are buttery, nutty, and not too sweet. Trust me, you can’t eat just one.

ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 2 C (10 oz) flour
  • 2 C finely chopped pecans
  • 2 T sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Powdered sugar for rolling (approximately 2/3 cup)

directions

Cream butter. Add sugar, vanilla and water. Stir flour and salt together and sift into mixture. Mix until combined. Add pecans. Roll into crescent shapes. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar while warm (not hot).

notes

The quick and easy way to chop pecans is to put them in the food processor and pulse several times until the pecans are in tiny pieces.
