Grandma Smith's sugar cookies
Grandma Smith loves to bake, frost, and deliver for every special occasion
4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 cup soft butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
½ cup milk
1½ cups sugar
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
Beat at medium speed butter, sugar, and egg until light and fluffy.
At low speed, mix milk and vanilla.
Gradually add flour mixture, mixing well after each addition.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Roll dough ¼ inch thick and cut with cookie cutters.
Place on cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden.
