Carrie and Myles's Rockin' Guac

ingredients

  • 1 large or 2 small avocados
  • 1 tablespoon minced onions or shallot
  • 1 clove minced garlic (we like a lot but you could use less)
  • 1 teaspoon minced jalapeno
  • Chile powder, black pepper, and salt to taste
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Cilantro

    Cut avocados in half and reserve pits if you won’t be serving right away. Mash the pulp in a bowl with a fork or potato masher, along with onion and garlic. Add lime juice, salt, pepper, cilantro, and chili power to taste.

    IMPORTANT: If you won’t be serving this right away, tuck one of the avocado pits into the guacamole, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate. This will keep the guacamole from turning brown for up to 4 hours. But remember, best when eaten fresh!
