Perfect Rice

ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups of water
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1 cup white rice

Bring 1 3/4 cup water and 1 teaspoon of salt to a rapid boil in a 2-quart saucepan.

Stir in 1 cup white rice.

Return mixture to a boil, reduce heat to simmer.

Cover and cook without lifting the lid for 15-20 minutes.

Let stand, covered for 5 to 10 minutes.
notes
Brown rice, sushi and basmati rice can be used as well.
