Appetizer - Muhammarah
ingredients
- 7 - 8 ounce jar roasted red peppers, drained or 3 large red bell peppers, roasted with skins and seeds removed.
- 2/3 cup bread crumbs
- 1 cup walnuts, toasted lightly and chopped
- 2 to 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, or to taste
- 3 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon hot pepper paste
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
directions
In a food processor, blend the peppers, bread crumbs, garlic, lemon juice, pomegranate molasses, cumin and hot pepper paste until smooth. Add the walnuts and pulse. With motor running, add the olive oil. Serve with pita chips or pita bread.
