Tracies bourbon pumpkin pie with broiled pecantopping
best pumpking pie EVER. Always a crowd pleaser even for non pumpkin pie lovers
ingredients
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 2 cups canned or fresh pumpkin
- 1 1/4 cup light cream
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 2 tbs molasses
- 3 eggs lightly beaten
- 1 9inch unbaked pie shell
- 1 egg white lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup pecan halves
- TOPPING
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 3 tbs butter, melted
- 1 tbs cream
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup pecan halves

Mix sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg. Add the pumpkin, beat in bourbon, crema and molasses and eggs to make a smooth mixture. Brush bottom and sides of pie shell with egg white. Chop pecan halves and press into bottom of pie shell. Pour in mix. Bake 10 mins at 450 degrees. Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Bake anothe 30-40 mins until the pie looks firm. Cool to luke warm. Add topping and decorate with pecan halves.

Topping: mix all ingredients except for pecan laves and spread on pie. Decorate with pecan halves. Broil 3 inches from heat until bubbly, carful not to burn the pie!
