Amish Sourdough Cinnamon Bread
Delicious any way you make it. Try adding mashed banana or other ripened fruit for a variation. Call Aunt Rudi for the starter!
ingredients
- 3 eggs, 1 c. oil,1/2 c. milk, 1 c. sugar, 2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 2 c. flour, 1 large box INSTANT vanilla pudding mix, 1 c. raisins (optional), 1 c. nuts
- Mark 4- one gallon Ziplock bags with Day 1 and the date. Add one cup of batter to each bag and pass 3 to friends. (Keeping one bag to start over).

Day 2, 3, 4, 5 - Mush the bag

Day 6 - Add 1 c. each flour, sugar and milk-Mush the bag

Day 7, 8, & 9 - Mush the bag

Day 10 - Follow instructions:

Pour entire contents of the bag into a large, NON METAL bowl.

Add 1 1/2 c. each: Flour, sugar & milk & mix well.

Bake at end of 10 day cycle by adding ingredients to two large loaf pans (dust with 1/2 c. sugar and 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon covering bottom & sides well). Pour batter in pans, sprinkle with remaining cinnamon/sugar. Bake @ 350 for 50 min-1 hr. Cool.
