ingredients

Large Recipe
  • 1/2 cup warm water (not hot, 100-110)
  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast - add 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm milk
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 7 (or a little more) cups flour
Small Recipe
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 pkg active dry yeast - add 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3/4 cup lukewarm milk
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 cups flour

    In a bowl, dissolve yeast in water - add sugar to help. Melt margarine and milk together in microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes - (not too hot).

    Add milk and margarine to mixing bowl with sugar, salt, beaten egg. Add half of flour. Mix with spoon until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to mix easily and knead in mixer until smooth (About 5 minutes).

    Spray sides of bowl with Pam and cover with cloth. Let rise in warm place (85 degrees) until double, about 2 hours.

    Roll out on countertop. Shape (cut in circle, add butter and fold over), place on greased baking pan, and let rise about 2 hours.

    Bake at 375 for 18 minutes.

    *Night before, make dough, rise 2 hours, shape into rolls and place on pan in the fridge. Take out and leave on counter while at church, cook when you get home.
