Bahamian Shrimp

ingredients

  • 1/2 lb butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 T. garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup oregano
  • 28 peeled, devained shrimp
  • 1/3 cup dry vermouth
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley

directions

Heat butter, garlic, vermouth, and half of the oregano until mixture bubbles. Individually flour the shrimp and place in pan. Lower heat until mixture only slightly bubbles. Cook 5 minutes and turn shrimp over. Add remaining oregano, lemon juice, parsley, salt and pepper. Cook 5 minutes more.
