Ingredients

  • 1 cup Yellow Dahl (Moong Dahl) Peeled
  • 1 cup Off White Dahl (Urid Dahl) Peeled
  • 6 cups Water
  • 1 tsp Tumeric
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1-2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Finely Choppen Onion
  • 3 Minced Garlic Cloves
  • 1 handful fresh Coriander
  • Additions when serving:
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika

    Soak Dahls for 1 hour

  • 2

    Add Dahls to water and boil

  • 3

    After water boils, add, Tumeric, Oil, and Salt

  • 4

    Stir continuously until overflow stops

  • 5

    Reduce heat to medium/high

  • 6

    Cover halfway

  • 7

    Cook for approximately 20 minutes. Stir every 5 of these 20 minutes

    Add Coriander

  • 9

    Remove from heat and let stand for 5 – 10 minutes

  • 10

    At each serving, add the additions ingredients
