ingredients

  • Fresh Artichokes
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Fresh Parsley chopped
  • Salt,
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Olive Oil
  • Yellow Onion - sliced into strips
  • Eggs

directions

    Clean artichokes, cutting off sharp edges and spread leaves.

    Mix: bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, fresh parsley, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Season to taste. Add few tablespoons olive oil to just flavor crumbs.

    Fill artichokes with seasoned breadcrumbs.

  • 4

    Beat egg and cover top of artichoke to seal in crumbs. Then, seal in hot olive oil until slightly golden.

    Set artichoke upright in deep pot with two inches of water, salt, and onions. Steam for two hours, carefully adding water to avoid burning. Continue steaming until leaves are easily removed from artichoke.
