Nonnie's Green Bean Salad
Nonnie’s delicious and refreshing dish!
ingredients
- 1 1/2-2 lbs fresh green beans, wax beans or combination of both
- 2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1/2 - 3/4 cup sugar
- Optional Add Ins:
- chopped celery
- chopped red or green pepper
- chopped dill or sweet pickles
- chopped red onion cooked kidney or cannelloni beans
directions
Wash beans well with cold water Cut into 1-2" pieces Steam the pieces until crisp tender Drain and set aside to cool. Meanwhile, in a medium size bowl, stir and combine the vinegar, oil and sugar. Stir vigorously with whisk until sugar is dissolved. Place cooled beans in a flat container with desired add-ins. Pour marinade over beans. Let sit in refrigerator at least overnight, optimally 1-2 days.

Placing the bans in a flat covered dish allows the marinade to cover all the beans, instead of just the ones on the bottom.
