Pumpkin Pound Cake
ingredients
- 1 1/2 C. butter
- 2 3/4 C. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 t. vanilla
- 3 C. flour
- 3/4 t. cinnamon
- 1/2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 t. ground ginger
- 1/2 t. ground cloves
- 1 C. canned pumpkin (not pie filling)

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour 2 9x5 loaf pans.

In a bowl, cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine all the dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with the pumpkin, beating until just combined. Pour into prepared loaf pans. Bake for 65 to 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing loaves from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
