Sausage and Grits Casserole
ingredients
- 1 lb. hot sausage
- 1 C grits
- 4 C water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 stick butter
- 2 C shredded sharp Cheddar
- 1/2 C milk
- 3 eggs, beaten

Brown sausage and drain fat.

Cook grits in 4 C boiling water with salt and stick of butter until done (check grits package for cooking time)

Mix together sausage, grits, cheese, milk and beaten eggs. Pour into greased 9 X 13 casserole dish. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Bake at 350° for 1 hour until hot.
notes
This dish is best made the night before, refrigerated, and then cooked.Otherwise, it can be sort of runny.
