Kellenberger Taffy
As a young girl, it was so much fun to have Grandma call, spur of the moment, and have everyone come for a taffy pull. As many as could come, came and they cooked the taffy and visited. Then, when the boys, my uncles, would pull it, it was so much fun. All of them were posturing and razzing each other. Then the taffy would be draped over broom handles balanced on the back of chairs. We could hardly wait until it was cold and hard and ready to eat. We kids would sneak out and break off small pieces on the ends. Grandma would break it into an old, metal 9 x 13 pan and walk around, serving it to everyone, as they were playing in the basement or visiting in the dining area or living room. Happy memories!!
