Frankie's Garlic Cheese Grits

ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c grits, uncooked
  • 3 1/2 c boiling water
  • 1 roll garlic cheese
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c milk
  • 1/2 c Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated

    Heat oven to 350°F.

  • 2

    Cook grits in boiling water about 30 min until done.

  • 3

    Crumble cheese and butter into cooked grits.

  • 4

    Blend eggs and milk together.

  • 5

    Mix egg-milk combination with grits.

  • 6

    Pour into a 2 qt greased casserole dish and bake for 45 min, uncovered.

  • 7

    Sprinkle with Cheddar Cheese and bake 15 more minutes until cheese is melted.

notes

May substitute 2 teaspoon garlic powder if garlic cheese cannot be located.
