Fabulously Fit French Toast
It is so easy, delicious, and low cal! Enjoy two slices with half a cup of fresh berries...Yum!
ingredients
- 6 slices of Ezekiel Bread 4:9 (can be found at Whole Foods Market)
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup fat free milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar (I use splenda)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (more or less can be used based on your preference)
- 1 tablespoon 100% Pure Maple Syrup
directions
- 1
In a bowl big enough to hold a bread slice, mix eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon
- 2
Prep a skilet with non stick spray and heat it on medium high heat. Dunk a slice of bread on each side into the egg mixture and put it in the skillet. Brown the slice evenly on both sides, about a minute each.
- 3
Serve the French toast with a little butter (I use smart balance spread), in season berries like blueberries or strawberries, and drizzle the Maple syrup on top. Enjoy!!!
notes
If you prepare the recipe as directed and you eat only two slices of bread, then you are only consuming 275 total calories. This number includes half a cup of blueberries and the maple syrup!
