Plum Torte
Pretty and easy-to-make fruit torte
ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 12 Italian or purple plums, halved (or 1 can halved apricots)
- sugar to taste
- lemon to taste
- 1 tsp cinnamon or to taste

1.Cream together the butter and sugar. Add flour, baking powder, eggs and beat well

2. Spoon batter into 9 inch spring-form pan and, using your fingers or a plastic spatula, spread evenly. Place plum halves, skin side up, on top. Sprinkle lightly with sugar and lemon juice, depending on the sweetness of the fruit. Sprinkle with cinnamon. (If using canned apricots, eliminate extra sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon.)

3.Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Dear Suzanna and Adam, I like to make this with apricots, and serve it in the winter months when people are craving fruit. Add vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream on the side for additional panache! Have fun baking! With Love, Paula
