Breakfast Sausage Casserole
This recipe was given to me by a friend and it is superb. We make it for ourselves, but you can double or quadruple the recipe and serve it for guest. It’s easy to make and taste like a gourmet dish.
ingredients
- 1 pound of ground sausage (Bryan’s or Jimmy Dean quality)
- 6 eggs, scrambled
- 3 ounces of sour cream
- 4 ounces grated cheese

Brown sausage, but do not cook it “hard.” Drain sausage on paper towels and place in the bottom of a Pyrex brown. Scramble (soft) 6 eggs and place on the sausage. Cover the eggs and sausage with about 3/4 inch of sour cream. Grate sharp cheese over the three layers. Vermont Cheddar is very good, Kraft Extra Sharp New York State is also good but any of your favorites will do.

Place in oven at about 300 degrees for about 30 to 40 minutes. Dip and serve hot. You won’t believe how good it is until you try it.
