Chili Spiced Almonds

ingredients

  • 3 C almonds -- whole
  • 4 1/2 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

directions

Combine almonds and oil in large skillet. Cook over medium heat until lightly browned, about 10 minutes, stirring frequently. While almonds are cooking, combine all spices in food processor or blender, pulsing until finely ground. When almonds are done cooking, immediately transfer to large bowl and toss with seasoning, blend to coat thoroughly, spread on baking sheet to cool completely. Store airtight up to 1 month.
