Classic White Bread
Absolutely the best sandwich bread you will ever have. Hearty and light...also make great bread crumbs.
ingredients
- 2 1/4 t. yeast
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/2 t. sugar
- 1 c. warm milk
- 1 T. honey
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 2 1/2 t. salt
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3-4 c. bread flour
directions
Proof yeast in sugar and 1/2 cup warm water. Add all liquid ingredients and enough flour to make a nice dough...will be a little sticky. Knead until smooth then let rise until doubled. Make into 2 loaves and let rise again. Brush the tops with and egg white wash and sprinkle with salt. Bake 35 min at 375.
notes
If it is cold put to rise in a cold oven with a kettle of boiling water.
