Cottage cheese filled dumplings boiled in water and fried. Traditionally, it is served with ham and onion gravy.
- 6 Egg Whites
- 3/4 Cup Milk
- 3 Cups Sour Cream
- 3/4 Cup Oil
- 9 Cups Flour
- 1 Tbsp Salt
- 2 Quarts Dry Curd Cottage Cheese, Hoop Cheese, Ricotta (or similar)
- 6 Egg Yolks
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Cut a small circle of Dough. Place a small amount of Filling in the center. Fold in half and press rounded edge to seal. (Final product will be a half circle)
**To speed up process, you can use a tart maker that makes several tarts at a time.
Traditionally Veranika is served covered with Ham/Onion Gravy. On the side: German Sausage, and Pluma Mos.
