  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 lbs red skinned potatoes (about 5 medium), cut into 1/4 inch thick slices
  • 3 oz Gruyere cheese, shredded (3/4 cup)
