  • 1 small onion
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • Milk
  • Flour

    Saute 1 small onion in 2 tablespoons of oil

    Add 1 pound of ground beef and brown.

    Remove beef from pan and place on a paper towel to absorb the fat. Leave the grease in from the ground beef in the pan. Add 1-2 tablespoons of flour, stir into oil over low heat. Slowly add milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Use a whisk to remove any lumps. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add 1/4 tsp of sugar. Stir constantly until gravy thickens. Add the beef and onion mixture back to the gravy and stir.

    Serve mixture over toast. Dad says if you don’t know how to make toast, you are in trouble and you need to call home.

    You can change this recipe by using sausage instead of ground beef and biscuits instead of toast.
