Lemon Imperial Dessert

ingredients
- Layer 1:
- 1/2 lb butter
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
- Layer 2:
- 1 lb soft cream cheese
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
- Layer 3:
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon rind
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- Layer 4:
- 3 egg whites
- 6 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
