Homemade Chicken Soup
Mom’s homemade Chicken Soup. Yummy!
ingredients
- 1 1/2 C celery -- diced
- 1 1/2 C onions -- diced
- 4 chicken breast -- bone in, skinned
- 1 C carrots -- sliced
- 1 potato -- diced
- 2 cans chicken broth
- 1 bag frozen corn
- 2 cans diced tomatoes
- 2 C cabbage -- diced
- 1 clove garlic -- minced
- 1 tsp. cumin powder
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1 tsp. seasoned garlic salt
directions
Directions:
In large stock pot place chicken, onion and celery. Fill with water until about 2 inches over chicken. Bring to boil and then turn heat to simmer until chicken is cooked. Approximately 30 minutes. Place 2 large paper towels in colander and place colander in large bowl.
Remove chicken from pot and place on plate to cool. Pour stock from chicken into colander and strain out fat and cooked vegetables.
Remove colander from bowl and pour remaining broth back into large pot. Add chicken broth, celery, onions, carrots, potatoes and tomatoes. Bring broth back to simmer and add seasonings. Simmer until vegetables are tender.

Cook all day over low heat.

Use a large crockpot. This soup will fill the pot up to the brim.

When vegetables are tender add the chicken, corn and cabbage and cook until cabbage is tender.

Recipe can be frozen for later use.
