Pizza from Scratch
Bridal Shower Recipe
ingredients
- SAUCE:
- 2 TBSP olive oil
- 2 cloves chopped or pressed garlic
- 1 6oz can tomato paste
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 1/4 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp dried basil
- 2/3 C water
- 2 TBSP grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 TBSP red wine
- salt & pepper
- PIZZA CRUST:
- 2 1/4 tsp Active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 1/2 C warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 TBSP olive oil
- 3 13 C all purpose flour
- Emeril’s Parmesan cheese spices

SAUCE DIRECTIONS:

- Saute garlic in oil until golden.

- Add tomato paste, sugar, spices, water, cheese
- 4
& wine.

- Stir really well & simmer for about 10 minutes.

- If it looks too thick you can add some regular

tomato sauce.

PIZZA CRUST:

- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast & brown sugar in

water, and let sit for 10 minutes.

- Turn dough out onto a clean, well-floured

surface, and knead in more flour until the

dough is no longer sticky. Place the dough into

a well oiled bowl, and cover with a cloth. Let
- 15
the dough rise until double; (about 1 hr).

- Punch down the dough, and form a tight ball.

Allow the dough to relax for a minute before

rolling out the dough.

- After you roll it out, sprinkle with Emeril’s

spices, and add sauce.

- Preheat oven to 425°. If you are baking the

dough on a pizza stone, you may place your

toppings on the dough, and bake immediately.

- If you are using a pizza pan, lightly oil the pan,

and let the dough rise for 15-20 mins before

topping and baking it.

- Bake pizza in preheated oven, until the cheese

and crust are golden brown (15-20 min)
notes
Daub Secret - We like to cook the crust for about 10 minutes with no toppings. Take it out of the oven, add the toppings and put it back to bake for another 10 minutes.
