Popcorn Balls
Bet you can’t eat just one! This is my traditional Halloween snack. I have made these popcorn balls for years.
ingredients
- 4 quarts popped corn
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 light corn syrup
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 stick butter
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
directions
Pop your corn and set aside. Pick out all the unpopped kernels. Boil the rest of the ingredients, except for the vanilla, until it spins a thread (250° hardball). After it forms a ball in cold water, add vanilla. Pour over popcorn. Wet hands with cold water and shape into balls. Wrap each ball in waxed paper. Makes about 10 balls.

I usually double this recipe. Be careful not to over cook the syrup. A candy thermometer is a must.
