PISTACHIO TORTE
THIS RECIPE SOUNDS A BIT STRANGE TO ME, BUT IT IS SO GOOD! IT’S MADE IN 4 LAYERS, THUS THE INGREDIENT LISTING.
ingredients
- 1st Layer:
- 1 1/2 Cups flour
- 1/2 Cup margarine
- 2 to 3 Tablespoons sugar
- 2nd Layer:
- 8 Oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 to 2/3 Cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 of a 9 oz conatiner of Cool Whip
- Splash of milk
- 3rd Layer
- 2 Small boxes instant pistachio pudding
- 2 1/2 Cups milk
- 4th Layer
- Cool Whip
- Almonds, chopped

1st Layer:

Heat oven to 350.
- 3
Mix the 3 indgredients like a pie crust. Press lightly into a 9 x 13 baking pan. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Cool.

Beat the cream cheese together with the powdered sugar. Mix in the 1/2 container of Cool Whip. Add a splash of milk if needed. Spread on the cooled crust.

Mix the boxes of instant pudding with the milk. Beat for 2 minutes or until thick. Spread over the second layer.

Spread the remaining Cool Whip on top of the third layer. Sprinkle with almonds. Refrigerate.

We used to have this at get togethers all the time. I had lost the recipe for years and found it just in time for this book.
