CATHY'S CROCK POT CHILI
Warm chili for a cold night. Set it and forget it!
ingredients
- 2 pounds gound beef (can be substituted with ground turkey)
- 1 large onion
- 1/2 tbs. minced garlic
- 1/2 bottle dark beer
- 1 large can kidney beans
- 1 large can crushed tomatoes
- 2 small cans stewed tomatoes with juice
- 3-4 tablespoons chili powder
- 1-2 tablespoons cumin
- small dash cayanne pepper
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper

Sauté ground beef and drain fat. Remove from pan. Sauté large onion in pan. Add minced garlic. Add 1/2 bottle dark beer. Sauté until liquid evaporates.

Add sautéed beef, onion, beans and tomatoes to crock pot. Add seasonings: chili powder, cumin, cayanne pepper and salt and pepper.

Stir all and cover.

Cook 30 minutes high. Turn back to low and cook for additional 4 hours.
