Date Pinwheels
ingredients
Filling- 8 oz. dates
- 1 cup water
- 2 T butter
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 5 cups flour
- 1/2 t soda
- 1 t salt
- 1 t cinnamon
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 t vanilla
- 3 eggs

My mother got this recipe from Margurette Karr. My parents would make these together every Christmas. My mother would hide them in the basement thinking that we wouldn't find them!
