Chicken Wing Drumsticks with Luau Glaze
ingredients
- 3 to 3 1/2 pounds chicken wings
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

Heat oven to 400˚. Rinse chicken wings and pat dry with paper towels. Cut off wing tips. Using a sharp knife or a cleaver, cut wings at the joint. Line a broiler pan with foil and place wings on a rack over the foil.

Bake wings 14 minutes; turn and bake 14 minutes longer. While wings bake, prepare the glaze. Mix sugar, cornstarch, ginger, salt and pepper in a small sauce pan. Stir in water, lemon juice, soy sacue and Worcestershire. Cook mixture over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and begins to simmer. Simmer 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat.
