Connie's Chocolate Cake

ingredients
- For Cake:
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 2 cups Self-rising cake flour
- 1 cup Ice water
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1/2 cup Cold milk
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 cup “Draste” Cocoa or the like
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- For Icing:
- 1-2 pts Heavy whipping cream
- 1 (5 1/2 oz) Can Hershey’s chocolate syrup

Grease 3 round cake pans and cut wax paper to fit bottom of pans so as not to let cake stick when cooked.

Cream butter and sugar till light. Add egg, one at a time beating vigorously after each addition. Add flavoring. Sift flour and baking soda. Add alternately with milk, starting and ending with flour. Pour cold water into cocoa little by little. Fold into cake mixture. Pour into cake pans and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes until done.

OR use a boxed devil’s food cake mix and cook as directed. What makes this cake so good is the icing and that the cake is refrigerated and served cold.

For Icing:

Beat cream till it starts to thicken. As beating slowly pour in chocolate to taste (the more chocolate, the more chocolate taste). Frost between layers, top and sides.

Refrigerate overnight. Enjoy!!!!!
