DUNFNOODLES
Sweet and Salty Soft and Chewy! Want to know how good they are? Look at Dorthy’s face!
ingredients
- 3 envelopes yeast
- 3/4 c lukewarm water
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 c margarine
- 1/4 c vegetable oil
- 1 TBS salt
- 1/2 c sugar
- 2-3 cups of flour
- 2 lemons or oranges(grated-peel only)

Stir yeast into warm water let sit till yeast becomes active (starts to move)

Heat next 3 ingredients in microwave (about 1 minute) Let cool until luke warm

Mix Dry ingredients together in a big bowl, make a hole at the bottom of the bowl and add the yeast mixture stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until it is smooth. Add the mild mixture alternately with 2-4 cups of flour. Knead the dough until it is smoth and has air bubbles. In a separate big bowl a 1 tsp flour and spread in the bottom of the bowl. Drop in the dough then turn it over. Cover with cheese cloth and place in a warm area away from draft until doble in size. Punch down the dough and pinch with your forefinger and thumb to make an oval shape and place on a floured surface to rise. Once they rise (double in size) Put the electric skillet on 350° Add 1/4 c vegetable oil or shortening. Sprinkle salt on the bottom of the hot shortening. Add dufnudels. Pour in about 1/3 c water and cover. Let steam till all the water is gone about 5-7 minutes. Open lid quickly and remove dufnudles. Continue process till all are cooked.
