Hot Apple Tea Cake

ingredients

Pudding
  • 2 cups self raising flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 x large tin pie apples
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
Sauce
  • 1 cup sugar (ordinary or Castor sugar) or less if you don’t want it too sweet
  • 3/4 cup ideal milk
  • 1 tsp caramel essence

Pudding

  • 1

    Beat eggs and sugar ’till creamy.

  • 2

    Add milk and then butter.

  • 3

    Add pinch salt and flour. Mix.

  • 4

    Pour into greased dish.

  • 5

    Arrange apples on top of mixture.

  • 6

    Bake for 1/2 hour at 180 degrees Celsius.

  • 7

    Add sauce and bake for further 10 minutes.

  • 8

    Serve with whipped cream or ice-cream.

Sauce

  • 1

    Bring ingredients to a boil stirring constantly.

  • 2

    Pour over pudding and bake for 10 minutes.
