Campbelll's Chicken Marengo
This is not the true version of Chicken Marengo, but a Campbell’s soup recipe. One of the easy meals I cooked in my early days, it became a favorite. The sauce is very tasty over noodles.See my Comfort Foods “Chicken and Pasta Marengo” for true version.
ingredients
- 1 can(10 3/4 oz.) condensed Tomato soup
- 1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed Golden
- Mushroom soup
- 3 lbs. chicken parts(or 4 chicken breasts)
- 3 T shortening
- 1 lb.(about 16 small) whole white onions(I just used onion powder back then)
- 1 medium clove garlic, minced

notes
If you don't use chicken parts and just use chicken breasts, I suggest using breasts with skin for the flavor.
